Thanks to your votes, the story of two Muslim boys in love, "Naz + Maalik," won this weekend’s Project of the Week contest!

Congratulations to “Naz + Maalik" director Jay Dockendorf. The filmmaker will receive a digital distribution consultation from SnagFilms and the film is now officially a candidate for Project of the Month. That winner will be awarded with a consultation from the Tribeca Film Institute.

Here's what the project's about:

Two first-generation African-American Muslim teens — close friends, classmates, business partners and something more – have their Friday, and potentially their entire lives, ruined by surveillance as their ambiguous and secretive relationship sets off flags among the relentless bureaucrats still fighting the War on Terror in the far-flung outpost of Bed-Stuy.

Stick around for this week's Project of the Week! Want your project to be considered? Tell us all about it.
