Thanks to your votes, the Arizona immigration drama "Sun Belt Express" won this weekend’s Project of the Week contest!
Congratulations to “Sun Belt Express" director Evan Buxbaum. The filmmaker will receive a digital distribution consultation from SnagFilms and the film is now officially a candidate for Project of the Month, the winner of which will receive a consultation from the Tribeca Film Institute.
"Sun Belt Express" is an edgy, heartwarming comedy about illegal immigration, set to the south of Tucson in the Sonoran Desert. The story follows Allen King, an offbeat ethics professor who ends up on a run across the Mexican border with his conservative teenage daughter in tow - and four illegal immigrants in the trunk. What follows is a family road trip where anything that can go wrong – does. And then some. Set on both sides of the border, the film is a testament to the enduring power of humor, even in the most trying of situations.
