"Chosen" stars Milo Ventimiglia and is the creation of Ben Ketai ("30 Days of Night: Dark Days") and Ryan Lewis (co-producer of "Fat Kid Rules the World"), with Ketai also writing and directing the series. The first season, which premiered in full on Crackle on January 17 of this year and will be available until mid May, was made up of six half-hour episodes, and had Ventimiglia playing Ian Mitchell, a divorced defense lawyer and father of a little girl who discovers a gun on his doorstep one morning, along with the photo of a stranger he's told he has to kill in the next three days, and is instantly plunged into a secret, dangerous game.
"'Chosen' confirms our belief that there is a strong appetite for compelling, high-quality original series in the digital space," said Sony Pictures Television's Eric Berger in the announcement (Crackle is owned by Sony Pictures Entertainment). "Whether it was online, on mobile or through a connected TV device, our audience spent a significant amount of time with the show, following it through to its conclusion. We are excited to announce that we are moving forward with a second season."
The second season of "Chosen" will begin production in the summer of this year. The first season of “Chosen" registered 2.4 million streams in less than 10 weeks, with half of the viewers who watched the first episode watching all six.
