>> Former Sundance Channel Exec Harbeck Joins IFILM

(indieWIRE/3.1.2000) -- IFILM has announced another high-profile
appointment, naming former Sundance Channel and Nickelodeon executive
Tom Harbeck to the post of Sr. VP of Programming, Marketing and
Creative Director. He will be based in the company's new Los Angeles
headquarters. IFILM's new CEO Kevin Wendle made the announcement
yesterday.

Harbeck served as Sundance Channel's Executive VP of Programming and
Creative Director and was also the Sr. VP of Marketing and On Air
Promotions/Creative Director at Nickelodeon.

>> "American Psycho" Secures "R" Rating

(indieWIRE/3.1.2000) -- Mary Harron's "American Psycho" has been trimmed
after receiving an NC-17 rating by the Motion Picture Association of
America
(MPAA). Lions Gate co-presidents Tom Ortenberg and Mark Urman
indicated in a prepared statement that a few seconds of an objectionable
scene were cut. "Though we were reluctant to make any changes to Mary's
original cut of the film, we are pleased we were we able to trim the
scene only slightly and still maintain its integrity," added Michael
Paseornek
, president of Lions Gate Films Productions and the executive
producer of the film.

The scene includes a three-way sex scene between Christian Bale, Cara
Seymour
and Krista Sutton. Harron and Lions Gate appealed the MPAA's
pre-Sundance decision to give the film the NC-17 rating and lost the
appeal last month. The film will be release in 1,200 theaters on
April 14th, according to Lions Gate.
