DAILY NEWS: Lions Gate Acquires Another Film; Another Online Entertainment Site

(indieWIRE/3.10.2000) -- Mark Urman and Tom Ortenberg of Lions Gate
announced yesterday the acquisition of horror spoof
"I Know What You Screamed Last Summer" written and directed by
John Blanchard ("SCTV," "MAD TV") and starring Tiffani-Amber
, Coolio and Tom Arnold. The film, which was produced
by Rhino Films will be released this summer. "The film pokes
fun at television and pop culture which will appeal to those
viewers not familiar with current teen horror trends," said Urman.
The film follows a reporter and her investigation into a
"Spring Break Massacre." This is the second acquistion
for Lions Gate in recent days who picked up Jamie Babbit's

>>New Online Entertainment site launches backed by filmmaking

(indieWIRE/3.10.2000) -- Dave Bartis, Doug Liman and Elizabeth Hamburg
have formed a new online entertainment company called Nibblebox.
The company which, according to a prepared statement "will
incubate students and their ideas to create the first generation
of true Internet content creators," will launch in Spring 2000
with original episodic programs and college radio shows.
The site's goal is to be a destination for college students
that will recruit industry leaders to mentor students and help them
create content for the site. Those already involved include:
John Leguizamo, Steven Soderbergh and Arielle Tepper. The site will
also offer information, tools, networking opportunities and
