Dallas Kicks Off 1998 Fest

The Dallas Video Festival announced the lineup for the March 5-8
festival, recently, and the program contains works ranging from feature
films, to shorts, to works in progress. WIP's include Ruth Leitman's
documentary "Alma," while features filmed on video include Scott
Saunders' festival veteran, "The Headhunter's Sister." Filmmaker
Krzysztof Kieslowski's "Dekalog," a ten-part series based on the ten
commanments joins "Krzysztof Kieslowski: I'm So-So," a look at the famed
director's personal life by his friend Krzysztof Wierbicki.


Other highlights include Richard Dindo's "Ernesto Che Guevara: The Bolivian
Diary
," Su Friedrich's 1997 Sundance Film Festival entrant "Hide and
Seek
" and programs presented by producer's rep and "Split Screen"
creator, John Pierson: highlights from his Independent Film Channel
series, "Split Screen" and a workshop, entitled "1001 Mistakes
Filmmakers Make." Other highlights include: the Second Annuel Ernie
Kovacs award being presented to Monty Python co-creator and director
Terry Gilliam ("The Fisher King", "Brazil") and "Saturday Night Live,"
"Late Night With Conan O'Brien" and "The Dana Carvey Show" writer Robert
Smeigel and a series of programs by noted photographer and
videographerWilliam Wegman, including a segment entitled "William Wegman
Presents For Kids."
