First-time feature filmmaker Mark Milgard took home a pair of the top prizes at this year's Savannah Film Festival, earning awards for Best Narrative Feature and Best Director for his haunting coming-of-age story, "Dandelion."

Mara Wallis' "Entertaining Vietnam," which revisits almost a dozen Australian entertainers who performed for soldiers during the Vietnam War, was awarded the Best Documentary prize.

Other festival honorees included actors Peter O' Toole and Kathleen Turner, both of whom received Lifetime Achievement Awards. Oscar-winning filmmaker Norman Jewison accepted the Achievement in Cinema award, while Roger Ebert was celebrated for his lifetime achievement in entertainment journalism.

The festival, hosted by the Savannah College of Art and Design, wrapped up a week of festivities with the Oct. 30 awards presentation.
