Indiewire Readers: Tell Us About You and Get a Chance to Win a Canon HD Camera

Dear Indiewire reader,

It’s hard to believe, but Indiewire will be 18 years old this June. What began as a daily email newsletter for fellow film fans has grown into a massive website and blog network with unparalleled indie film, Hollywood, and TV coverage. For the makers, the industry and the fans -- we cover it all.

As we’ve seen filmmaking change, Indiewire has changed along with it. When we saw that some of the finest filmmakers had a hand in creating great TV, we followed them. When we saw our readers’ insatiable appetite for information about how to control their films before, during and after production, we expanded our Filmmaker Toolkit. And when we saw a gap between critical thinking and critical consensus around movies, we launched Criticwire.

And at 18, we feel like we’re just getting started. We see so much potential in the worlds we cover and we want to make sure we make the most of it. For us, that means knowing more about you.

We’ve kept the survey brief. And as an incentive, our friends at Canon U.S.A. will provide a Canon XA20 HD professional camcorder to the reader with the most creative idea on how they will use the camera. (This question is optional for the survey, but required for a chance to win the camera. Entries will be judged on their creativity by Indiewire editors. You must answer by Friday February 14th at 11:59pm.)

As always, thanks for reading.

Dana Harris, Editor in Chief
James Israel, Publisher

you just need a eye for detail and most of all the desire to capture life for the future and what better way to do it with than a good Canon XA20 HD Camera.

Well...I shot my first feature film with Canon XhA1s camera. Results were brilliant. As former refugee from Balkans, chasing his dream to become a filmmaker, to actually come to this great country with no English, and 20 bucks in my pocket...then made movie! Theatricaly released, now on VOD. I can certainly use an upgrade on my camera for my next film....Thank you!

Im 51 yrs. old , mother of 4 and 5 grand children. It will be nice to have a wonderful camera and i could probably use it to do a head shot for my daughter and when Im visiting my son at Santa Barbara it will be wonderful to take a photo of every places I go. By the way ever since I was a child my parents like to take my photo and I stopped having it when I started having my own children cause I enjoy looking at their photos. Thanks and God Bless , Annie :)
