Project of the Month January 2013

January is just now over,   Now, it's time to choose one of our Projects of the Week to be named December's Project of the Month. The project that receives the most votes for Project of the Month will receive a consultation from our Project of the Month partner, Tribeca Film Institute!

Voting will be open until Friday February 1 at 5 PM Eastern.

"Kam Kardashian"

Kam Kardashian is a web series that follows Kameron, the long-lost lesbian Kardashian sister who was cut off, kicked out, and left to fend for herself. This sticky-fingered vixen loves whiskey and women, and most of all: yearns to re-insert herself into the Kardashian krown by any means possible (whether it be through petty crime, Photoshop, or her slightly unbalanced best friend, Mary Hollis).

As the second season kicks off, a top secret GLAAD-like organization has discovered Kam's existence and struggles to change her ways and turn her into a positive role model (a la Ellen Degeneres, Chely Wright).

"Ripe"

Five girls return to their hometown after their freshman year of college to throw a wedding for 18-year-old Lee, and find that their relationships with romantic flings and controlling parents haven’t changed all that much. Jean, Lee’s bohemian maid of honor, can’t believe that her best friend, a UN-bound high school valedictorian with world-changing aspirations, is now a willing a teenage bride. Lee’s enthusiasm and Jean’s misgivings about the fast-approaching nuptials test the limits of their friendship as the two stumble towards adulthood.

"We Are Monsters"

Lorna Thompson, a lonely suburban schoolgirl, joins a mutant gang of teenagers on a quest to discover their true identities. They uncover a global conspiracy, which they must find the strength to fight before civilization is destroyed.

"An Honest Liar"

An Honest Liar tells the incredible story of famed magician-turned-skeptic and enemy of deception, James “The Amazing” Randi. The film brings to life his elaborate schemes and investigations that famously exposed psychics, faith healers and con artists. Yet after recently coming out of the closet as a gay man, Randi himself now faces the price of a very personal deception that might result in the deportation of his partner of 26 years.
