Demian Bichir Creates A Better Life for Circus Boy in Directorial Debut, 'Refugio'

Oscar-nominee Demian Bichir ("A Better Life") is expanding his CV to include writer and director for his upcoming indie, "Refugio." The film will be produced by BN Films and co-produced by the actor's brother, Bruno Bichir, of Escarabajo Productions.

Oscar-nominee Demian Bichir ("A Better Life") is expanding his CV to include writer and director for his upcoming indie, "Refugio." The film will be produced by BN Films and co-produced by the actor's brother, Bruno Bichir, of Escarabajo Productions.  

"Refugio" follows the life of a young circus boy who travels across Mexico to the United States as he searches for his true love. The boys' story is a transformational journey to adulthood and to making the impossible a reality.

Bichir will next be appearing in "The Heat" opposite Sandra Bullock and Melissa McCarthy.
