At the Full Frame Documentary Film Festival in Durham, NC today, Danny DeVito joined executives from ClickStar, Inc. to announce the launch of Jersey Docs, a new entertainment channel on Clickstar's broadband VOD entertainment site that will offer digitally downloadable docs. At a panel discussion on Saturday, company CEO James Ackerman talked with attendees about the new company (which was founded by Morgan Freeman and includes funding from Intel). Freeman, narrator of last years hit doc "The March of the Penguins," said in a statement:
"Danny and I have known each other for years and we both share a passion for documentaries. I am thrilled that through ClickStar we can introduce a wide variety of documentaries and emerging filmmakers to audiences. We see Jersey Docs as being the go to destination for documentary filmmakers who are looking for a distribution outlet that ensures their work is seen by the largest possible audience."
