Director Sidney to Receive New DGA Award

It will be presented at the organizations 50th DGAAwards dinner next week in Los Angeles and New York.The award is given at the discretion of the all former DGA Presidentsand the current DGA President. Born in 1916, George Sidney began hisfilm career as a messenger for MGM. He directed "Our Gang" episodes anda host of feature films, including "As Thousand Cheer," "AnchorsAweigh," "The Three Musketeers," "Annie Get Your Gun," "Show Boat," and"Kiss Me Kate," "Bye Bye Birdie," and "Viva Las Vegas."
