DirecTV's first foray into scripted television seems to have been a success -- the satellite service today announced a renewal for "Rogue," its original cop drama starring Thandie Newton as undercover detective Grace Travis, who tries to find out the truth about her son's murder while getting entangled with crime boss Jimmy Laszlo, played by Marton Csokas.

"Rogue," which airs on DirecTV's exclusive Audience Network, will be getting another 10 episode season to premiere next year. The series, which was created by Matthew Parkhill ("Dot the I"), did not go over well with critics, but clearly performed well enough with DirecTV viewers to convince the company to re-up.

"We are thrilled that our first venture into original programming resonated with our subscribers who enthusiastically tuned into 'Rogue' each week," said DirecTV's Chris Long in the announcement. "We look forward to bringing them another season of 'Rogue' and the chance to experience the next chapter in Grace's life."

DirecTV has another original scripted series in the works -- "Full Circle," a 10-episode half-hour series based on "La Ronde" that will be Neil LaBute's directorial debut.
