International film and television distribution and rights acquisition company Entertainment One ("eOne") announced an agreement to acquire Toronto based studio Phase 4 Films. Berry Meyerowitz, founder and President/CEO of Phase 4 has been brought on as the President of eOne's U.S. Film and Distribution business, overseeing all aspects of domestic distribution as well as the company's North American label and children and family content distribution.
"This is a very exciting development for Phase 4 and all of our valued partners," said Meyerowitz. "We are excited to bring our passion and experience to eOne. We are proud of the strong foundation that we have built over the last five years and look forward to broadening our business through eOne’s expanded portfolio."
This move has linked two major independent entertainment companies. It also means that kaboom! Entertainment, Phase 4's family content label, will join the eOne family of companies. The music and television wings at eOne will not be impacted by the acquisition.
