Company Focus

Types of films in distributor's slate:
Magnolia Pictures has one of the most diverse slates in the world. We’re complete eclecticists. Any genre, size, format or language is of interest to us… the only consistency being a very genuine appreciation for all of our films and filmmakers.

Films include: “Freakonomics," "Monsters," "Centurion," "I Am Love," "The Extra Man," "Ondine," “Rec 2," “The Good Heart," "Down Terrace," "Countdown to Zero," "George A. Romero's Survival of the Dead," "Mother," "House of the Devil," "Red Cliff," "The Eclipse," "Let the Right One In," "World’s Greatest Dad," "The Answer Man," "Humpday," "Food Inc.," "Ong Bak 1 & 2," "The Girlfriend Experience," "Man on Wire," "Bronson," "Two Lovers," "The Host," "World's Fastest Indian," "Enron," "Redacted," "Exiled," "No End in Sight"

Advice for filmmakers:
Know your distributor inside and out. Peruse their website. Read as many trade articles about them as possible. Screen their biggest hits and recent releases. Understand who the personnel is. Get references from filmmakers, producers, sales reps who have worked work them. Make sure they pay on time and have been doing so for more than five years. If they haven’t been around for more than five years, make sure they have a realistic plan to survive. Finally, ask distributors about one another. It'll generate a fascinating list of questions and critiques.
