The deadline to submit documentary features (with all paperwork, including legal contracts) in to the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences for consideration for the 85th Academy Awards is Monday, Sept. 24, at 5 p.m. PST.

A complete entry will include 200 DVD copies of the film without trailers or extraneous materials, an English-language summary of the film, a list of credits and proof of its qualifying seven-day commerical run (which must take place in Los Angeles County or the Borough of Manhattan in New York between January 1, 2012, and December 31, 2012).

If a film entry receives its first public exhibition or distribution in any manner other than as a theatrical motion picture release, it will not be eligible for the Academy Awards, which will be presented and televized Sunday, Feb. 24, at the Dolby Theatre at the Hollywood & Highland Center.
