Eight Docs Vie for European Film Awards

Eight documentaries have been nominated by the European Film Academy for its European Film Academy Documentary 2006-Prix Arte award which will be presented at its ceremony December 2 in Warsaw, Poland. The nominations are: "37 Uses for a Dead Sheep" by Ben Hopkins (UK); "Into Great Silence" by Philip Groning (Germany); "Dreaming by Numbers" by Anna Bucchetti (Netherlands); "Grandmother's House" by Adan Aliaga (Spain); "Maradona, the Golden Kid" by Jean-Christophe Rose (France); "The Cemetery Club" by Tali Shemesh (Israel); "The Fisherman and the Dancing Girl" by Valeriy Solomin (Russia); "Our Daily Bread" by Nikolaus Geyrhalter (Austria).
