Directed by Matthew Miele and narrated by William Fichtner, “Scatter My Ashes” is a celebration of the famous Fifth Avenue store Bergdorf Goodman on its 111th anniversary. The iconic venue launched the careers of many of the world’s most well known designers, including Karl Lagerfeld, Vera Wang, Marc Jacobs and Michael Kors, who appear in the film to discuss the store’s impact. Celebrity clientele such as Candice Bergen and Susan Lucci, veteran employees, members of the Goodman family and fashion director Linda Fargo all speak to the Bergdorf influence.
“We’re thrilled to add ‘Scatter My Ashes at Bergdorf’s’ to our lineup in the U.S. and Canada,” said eOne Films U.S. exec Dylan Wiley. “It’s a creative and charming behind-the-scenes look at an American institution featuring some of today’s most established personalities.”
Berney Films CEO Bob Berney negotiated the deal with eOne VP worldwide acquisitions Sejin Croninger.
Entertainment One has spent the last year growing its theatrical distribution arm in the U.S., with the goal of releasing 12-15 films Stateside per year. The company has recently acquired rights to the dramas “Twice Born” and “Passion.”
