In his full-length feature debut "A Leading Man," director Steven J. Kung explores the career difficulties that arise with being a minority in Hollywood, where roles for Chinese-American actors, for example, are stereotypical and unrewarding.
"A Leading Man" follows young rising actor Jack Yang, who is upset over an offensively stereotypical role he must play. Things grow even more complicated as he embarks on a relationship with the casting director who made his career take off. The trailer not only showcases what is sure to be an insightful drama, but offers a glance at an injustice that is probably more common than we'd all like to believe.
"A Leading Man" will be distributed by Mance Media and hits theaters on September 12, with a planned VOD, DVD and television premiere to follow.
