Sports dramas are a dime a dozen: a montage here, an inspirational speech there, and a finale at the Big Game. The genre gets an raucous send-up in "Intramural," and Indiewire has exclusive new stills before its premiere at Tribeca on Saturday night.
"Intramural" stars Jake Lacy as Caleb, a fifth year senior who brings together his ragtag group of friends for one more shot at Intramural football before he graduates, gets married, and heads off into the real world. The film also takes on sports movie tropes such as the exposition-spouting announcers, the underdogs vs. their fiercer competitors, and the tough new head coach.
The film co-stars "Saturday Night Live" players Kate McKinnon, Beck Bennett and Jay Pharoah, among others, and was directed by Andrew Disney ("Searching for Sonny") from a script by Bradley Jackson. Watch the trailer and check out the stills below.
