Sundance Exclusive: Follow a Bodily Fluid-Obsessed Teenager in the First 3 Minutes of 'Wetlands'

"Wetlands" is a German film about Helen, a gleeful rule-breaker who ends up hospitalized after a shaving accident. The film will premiere at Sundance in the World Dramatic section on January 18th. Indiewire is pleased to exclusively premiere the first three minutes of the film prior to its unveiling.

Here's the official synopsis per Sundance:

Bodily fluid–obsessed teenager Helen describes herself as a living pussy hygiene experiment. After an intimate shaving accident, she ends up stuck in the hospital, where she skateboards through the halls and reminisces about her culinary masturbation experiments, the seductive powers of her unwashed scent, and used-tampon swapping with her equally uninhibited best friend, Corinna. All the while, she charms a handsome male nurse with her nasty sex talk and schemes to reunite her mismatched parents.

Watch the first three minutes for a gleefully gross romp, complete with an angst-y teen soundtrack.

    A Woody Allen/Roman Polanski collaboration?

Aren't all these claims of "premiering" a little late, given that the film premiered last August in Locarno (as well covered and reviewed in IndieWire)?

I believe that this is the U.S. Premiere

Plus any coverage that this film gets is good coverage considering that there was not enough buzz after Locarno for the type of film that it is...
