Fortissimo Films is partnering with Five Star Production on Pen-ek Ratanaruang's new film, "Ploy." The new movie is descibed as an, "erotic film (that) attempts to explore jealousy and its origins in a serious, exotic yet playful way, evaluating the theme by employing three characters and one location." Cast includes Lalita Panyopas ("6IXTYNIN9") and Ananda Everingham ("Shutter"). The deal was negotiated by Fortissimo co-chairmen Wouter Barendrecht and Michael J Werner with Chareon Iamphungphorn, president of Five Star Production.

"The combination of director Pen-ek Ratanaruang and Five Star Production is a team that we cannot resist working with," said Barencrecht, in a statement. "Pen-ek this time has embarked on a project which is intimate yet provocative. His signature style is still very evident [in] 'Ploy', and we also warmly welcome the return to film of the sensational Lalita Panyopas."

Leading Thai production company Five Star Production has a library of some 240 movies, including "The War Lord," "Tears of the Black Tiger," "Monrak Transistor," "Last Life in the Universe," "The Unseeable," and "Invisible Waves." [Eugene Hernandez]
