Fox Searchlight Gets "Trust The Man"

In a deal that is expected to be announced shortly here in Toronto, Fox Searchlight has acquired Bart Freundlich's "Trust The Man", which debuted at the festival last night. Company president Peter Rice confirmed the pact for indieWIRE shortly after today's crowded press and industry screenings at the Varsity theaters. As for the other big deal of the fest, Jason Reitman's "Thank You For Smoking", Rice said simply, "We have a signed deal, it's our movie, we got it." [Eugene Hernandez]
