A week before it premieres nationwide, Judd Apatow’s third feature film, “Funny People,” will screen at the 13th annual Just For Laughs Film Festival in Montreal. The film - starring Adam Sandler, Seth Rogen, Leslie Man, Eric Bana, Jason Schwartzman and Jonah Hill - will screen on July 25th at the Imperial Theater in the city’s downtown core.

Apatow is no stranger to the fest. Last year he was awarded “Comedy Director of the Year,” an honor passed on this year to “The Hangover” director Todd Phillips. Additionally, “Tropic Thunder” scribe Etan Cohen was announced as the festival’s recipient of the “Comedy Writer of the Year.” Cohen will take part in a panel with fellow writers Tami Sagher (“30 Rock”), Jeremy Garelick (“The Break Up”), and Dan Sterling (“The Sarah Silverman Program”) discussing “Comedy’s Next Generation of Writers: A Look Ahead.”

Other films set for the festival, which runs July 10-27, include Bobcat Goldthwait’s “World’s Greatest Dad,” Lynn Shelton’s “Humpday,” Nicholas Jasenovec’s “Paper Heart,” William Philbin’s “More Than Me,” Ken Scott’s “Les doigts croches,” Claudia Solti’s “That’s For Me!,” Margaret Cho’s stand up doc “Beautiful,” and the Canadian premiere of Michel Hazanavicius and Jean Dujardin’s “OSS 117: Lost in Rio.”

Additionally, all five Broken Lizard members - Jay Chandrasekhar, Kevin Heffernan, Steve Lemme, Paul Soter, and Erik Stolhanske - will take the stage to introduce the Canadian premiere of their newest film, “Broken Lizard’s the Slammin’ Salmon.”  The film follows a former heavyweight boxing champ Cleon Salmon, now the celebrity owner of an upscale Miami restaurant. The screening and Q&A takes place July 22 at the Imperial Theatre.
