In expected and, really, unsurprising news for anyone watching the enjoyable current season, FX has renewed its Kentucky noir "Justified" for a fifth round, the network announced today at its upfront presentation in New York.
The crime drama, which was developed by Graham Yost and based on Elmore Leonard creation Raylan Givens (Timothy Olyphant), a U.S. Marshal with an itchy trigger finger attempting to keep order in eastern Kentucky, has found a solid sweet spot between being critically acclaimed and extremely entertaining.
"Justified" has been nominated for seven Emmy Awards, with wins for Margo Martindale's performance as Mags Bennett and Jeremy Davies' as Dickie Bennett, and has become one of FX's signature shows. The ongoing fourth season has dealt with a 30-year-old case involving a dead parachutist, in addition to the usual Harlan intrigues -- the season finale, "Ghosts," airs April 2nd.
