Ganis Re-Elected President of the Academy

Sid Ganis was re-elected president of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and SciencesTuesday night (8/15) by the organization's Board of Governors, his second consecutive term in the office. In other post developments at the Academy, Robert Rehme, an Executives Branch governor and past Academy president, was re-elected first vice president; Music Branch governor Arthur Hamilton was re-elected to a vice president post; Sound Branch governor Donald C. Rogers was elected to a vice president post; Actors Branch governor Tom Hanks was elected treasurer and Actors Branch governor Kathy Bates was re-elected secretary. Ganis is now in his 20th year as a governor representing the Public Relations Branch. He founded Out of the Blue... Entertainment, which is housed on the Sony lot, in 1996.
