What We See in "A Good Old Fashioned Orgy" Trailer is Tame and Not All That Funny

If your film boasts the title "A Good Old Fashioned Orgy," you better hint at some sexy times in the trailer. No such luck in the new trailer for Peter Huyck and Alex Gregory's comedy, which premiered earlier this year to little fanfare at the Tribeca Film Festival.

If your film boasts the title "A Good Old Fashioned Orgy," you better hint at some sexy times in the trailer. No such luck in the new trailer for Peter Huyck and Alex Gregory's comedy, which premiered earlier this year to little fanfare at the Tribeca Film Festival.

What we do get is a lot of buildup. The plot goes something like this: Eric (Jason Sudeikis) is a thirtysomething party animal known for throwing lavish summer themed parties at his father's Hamptons pad. When Eric's dad announces plans to sell the house, the party animal decides it's high time to throw the ultimate shindig -- a good old-fashioned orgy.

Judging by the trailer, the whole affair seems amusing but not laugh-out-loud-funny. Shame, given Sudeikis' involvement and the presence of Lucy Punch, who stole scenes (and some would say the whole movie) in this summer's Cameron Diaz vehicle "Bad Teacher."

Check out the trailer below. The film drops on September 16 in limited release via Samuel Goldwyn.
