After a successful premiere over the weekend at Park City's Slamdance Film Festival, Dominic Rodriguez's eyebrow-raising documentary "Fursonas" has landed at Gravitas Ventures. The company has secured worldwide distribution rights to the movie, which centers around enthusiasts who enjoy dressing up in animal costumes."
"Gravitas is excited to work with this passionate filmmaking team on a truly unique documentary that skillfully treads the line between satirical jab and love-letter to the furries community," said Dan Fisher, the company's Senior Director of Acquisitions, in an official statement.
"I’m ecstatic to be working with Gravitas," added Rodriguez. "The most important thing to me is that this film is able to get out there and be seen by anyone who's interested. Now that dream is finally becoming a reality!"
The deal was negotiated by Dan Fisher and Michael Lange with Gravitas Ventures and by Danny Yourd on behalf of the filmmakers. Gravitas will release the doc On Demand sometime this summer.
