Gregg Allman will drop his lawsuit against the producers of "Midnight Rider," the film based on his life story, the Associated Press reports. Allman had sought to block the film production from resuming following the Feb 20 death of Sarah Jones, a second camera assistant, who died on set.
On April 28, Allman had filed the suit against the production companies, Unclaimed Freight Prods. and Allman LLC, asserting that under the terms of the original option to his life rights, production on the film needed to have commenced by February 28.
Attorneys for Allman and Unclaimed Freight Productions told a Savannah judge yesterday that they reached an out-of-court agreement. "We have come together and reasoned with one another," Allman attorney David Long-Daniels told the judge.
It still remains unclear if the film production will resume.
