In advance of this year's Sundance Film Festival, Indiewire sent out brief questionnaires to all of the filmmakers (you can read their full answers in our Meet the 2015 Sundance Filmmakers series). As part of the questionnaire, we asked which camera(s) they shot on.

The ARRI ALEXA, the RED Epic and various models of Canons were the runaway favorites, but the filming method-of-choice ran the gamut -- name pretty much any type of camera you can think of, and you can bet someone used it -- In fact, festival favorite "Submarine" was shot using an iPhone.

As you can see, the vast majority of filmmakers shot digitally, but a few shot on 35mm. Among the films produced on film were "The End of the Tour," "Mississippi Grind" "A Walk in the Woods," "Christmas, Again," "Digging for Fire" and "Umrika," among others.
