IFC Films has acquired U.S. rights to Kat Coiro's romantic comedy "A Case of You," which made its world premiere at the 2013 Tribeca Film Festival. Co-written by Justin Long, Christian Long and Keir O'Donnell, "A Case of You" stars Long, Evan Rachel Rood, Sam Rockwell, Peter Dinklage, Sienna Miller, and Busy Philipps.
The film follows Sam (Long) who begins to crush on Birdie (Wood), a local barista, and decides to win her affection via the internet. Sam sculpts himself into Birdie's dream guy -- thanks to a little Facebook stalking -- on his social media profile, but soon learns that he must also keep up his alter ego in person as well.
Jonathan Sehring, President of Sundance Selects/IFC Films, said of the film, "'A Case of You' is a heartfelt romantic comedy for the generation who has taken to finding love online. Kat Coiro is an incredibly talented filmmaker who expertly crafts the hilarious ensemble cast to bring Justin’s irreverent screenplay to life."
Coiro added, "I'm absolutely thrilled that 'A Case of You' has found a home at IFC Films, a company that I've always equated with class and creativity and that has made and produced some of my favorite films."
The deal was negotiated by Arianna Bocco, Senior VP of Acquisitions & Productions for Sundance Selects/IFC Films with CAA and Cassian Elwes on behalf of the filmmakers.
Other upcoming releases from IFC Films include David Lowery's "Ain't Them Bodies Saints," Noah Baumbach's "Frances Ha" and Sebastian Silva's "Crystal Fairy."
