IFC Midnight Acquires Rights to Body Horror Flick 'Contracted'

IFC Midnight has picked up the North American rights to the horror film "Contracted."

The film follows a girl named Samantha who engages in a casual one-nigh-stand with a stranger and begins to show symptoms of what she assumes is a sexually transmitted disease. Eventually, it begins to reveal itself as something far more disturbing and horrific.

The film was directed by Eric England, whose previous works in the genre include "Madison County" and recently contributed to the horror anthology "Chilling Visions: 5 Senses of Fear." IFC Midnight plans to release "Contracted" in November.

Wow, what's MORE horrific than a sexually transmitted disease? I can't think of anything...
