IFC has named upped three executives to the positions of VP, just days before the company will take four new films to the 2005 Sundance Film Festival. Sarah Lash, Nevette Previd and Michelle Panzer have all been promoted at the company. Lash will now serve as VP of Acquisitions for IFC Films, Previd will become VP of Marketing for IFC Films and Panzer has been named VP of Public Relations for IFC Entertainment.
"The combined strengths of Sarah Lash, Michelle Panzer and Nevette Previd have helped IFC deliver an enviable slate of films propelled by the smartest marketing and PR campaigns in the business," said IFC Entertainment head Jonathan Sehring in a statement. "I'm proud to acknowledge the hard work of these talented executives."
At Sundance this year, IFC will present Miranda July's "Me and You and Everyone We Know" and Steve Buscemi's InDigEnt film "Lonesome Jim" in the American Dramatic Competition, Rebecca Miller's "The Ballad of Jack and Rose" in the festival's Premieres section, and Susanne Bier's "Brothers" in the World Cinema Dramatic Competition.
Sarah Lash joined IFC four years ago from Lions Gate, she has been involved with the acquisitions of such films as "Y Tu Mama Tambien," "Metallica: Some Kind of Monster," "Touching the Void," and "The Edukators," among others. She reports to IFC SVP or Productions and Acquisitions, Caroline Kaplan.
Nevette Previd, who reports to the newly hired SVP of Marketing Rob Tsuruda, previously worked at Atom Shockwave and Fox Searchlight and handles the company's poster and trailer campaigns, as well as promotion efforts. Recent campaigns include "Touching the Void," "The Saddest Music in the World," and "Metallica: Some Kind of Monster."
Michelle Panzer handles PR duties for the company, having joined the company from Fine Line back in 2002. She worked on many of the aforementioned projects, as well as "When Will I Be Loved" and "Casa de Los Babys," among others. She reports to IFC Entertainment president Jonathan Sehring.
