Inaugural BRITDOC Locks Spurlock, Broomfield

BRITDOC, the new UK feature doc festival launching this summer, has officially announced some of the plans for its inaugural event. Set for July 26 - 28 at Oxford, the event will include master-classes from both Morgan Spurlock and Nick Broomfield, along with a pair of competition strands for both British and International docs. Already set to screen are Rex Bloomstein's "KZ," and Nick Francis and Marc Francis' "Black Gold," while on the international side, Doug Block's "51 Birch Street" and Andrew Neel and Luke Meyer's "Darkon," winner of the doc audience award at the recent SXSW Film Festival. The event is headed by "Unknown White Male" producer Beadie Finzie (festival director) and fest exec director Jess Search, founder of the Channel 4 British Documentary Film Foundation, co-founder of Shooting People, and exec producer of "Unknown".
