Indiewire Wins Webby Award for Movie and Film

The winners for the 2012 Webby Awards were announced this morning and Indiewire was selected as the winner in the "Movie and Film" category. This marks Indiewire's second Webby award following a win in 2003. The site was also previously nominated in 2001.

The Webbys, which were founded in 1996, aim to honor "excellence on the Internet including Websites, interactive advertising and online film and video." The event, run by the International Academy of Digital Arts and Sciences, moved to New York in 2004. This year's winners will receive their awards at a ceremony hosted by Patton Oswalt at the Hammerstein Ballroom on May 21.
