Join filmmakers Ondi Timoner and David Lee Miller as they discuss their new films that explore how technology is used to make the most private moments in life public. Both films are screening at upcoming New York City film festivals.
Two-time Sundance Grand Jury Prize winner Ondi Timoner ("DiG!") will talk about her newest documentary, "We Live in Public," which offers an insider’s view of the rise and fall of Internet pioneer Josh Harris, the “Warhol of the Web,” and shows the art and technology vortex of 1990's Downtown Manhattan.
Filmmaker David Lee Miller will discuss his last narrative film, "My Suicide" which just had its premiere at South by Southwest and tells the story of a teenager chronicling his high school experience through the lens of a video camera and his shocking plans to film his own suicide.
"My Suicide" will be screening at the Gen Art Film Festival on Saturday, April 4th and "We Live in Public" will be screening at New Directors / New Films on Sunday, April 5th.
The event will be moderated by film critic and journalist Dennis Lim.
