"Mudjackin'"
Tweetable Logline:
Mudjackin' is a freewheeling absurdist comedy about two best friends in the Ozarks desperately trying to have the summer of their lives.
Elevator Pitch:
In "Mudjackin'," Dustin and Travis are best friends who share a mudjacking business, a rap-metal band, and a pact to make the upcoming summer the summer of their lives. Soon, though, their livelihoods are threatened by a newly-arrived team of rival mudjackers, their hopes of winning a local battle of the bands undermined by a maddeningly glib Creedence Clearwater Revival cover band, and their dreams of an idyllic summer shattered by the emergence of a bizarre murder mystery. "Mudjackin'" is a freewheeling absurdist comedy set in the Ozarks of Missouri and shot in the Ozarks and Kansas City, Missouri.
Production Team:
Writer/Director/Producer: Christopher Good
Producers: Christopher Good and Megan Mantia
About the Production:
"'Mudjackin'' is going to be my first feature. To date I've made two short films, 'Holy Moly' and 'Return of the Gumshoe Kids'. The idea for 'Mudjackin'' arose from the title- I would see little signs planted along sidewalks that advertised free mudjacking estimates and a.) wondered what mudjacking was, and b.) thought 'Mudjackin'' would make a good name for a movie. So the writing process consisted of me wondering what kind of movie might be called 'Mudjackin'' and then proceeding to do my best to write that movie." -- Christopher Good
