The 34th Toronto International Film Festival kicks off today with the potential for a lot of deals to go down over its ten day duration. One hundred and forty-six premieres could result in acquisition for major territories, with over 3,000 industry professionals are expected to attend the Festival as delegates of the Sales & Industry Office.

Anne Thompson recently listed some of the more buzzworthy titles, including Tom Ford’s “A Single Man,” starring Colin Firth and Julianne Moore, Niki Caro’s “The Vinter’s Luck,” Don Roos’ “Love and Other Impossible Pursuits,” with Natalie Portman, Neil Jordan’s Colin Farrell starrer “Ondine,” Danis Tanovic’s “Triage,” also starring Farrell, Atom Egoyan’s Liam Neeson-Julianne Moore thriller “Chloe,” Brian Koppelman and David Levien’s “Solitary Man,” Tim Blake Nelson’s “Leaves of Grass,” and Aaron Schneider’s “Get Low,” starring Bill Murray.  Other titles to potentially gain some traction during the fest include Joe Dante’s 3-D “The Hole,” Todd Solondz’s “Life During Wartime,” Jordan Scott’s girls boarding school drama “Cracks,” Rodrigo García’s “Mother and Child,” starring Annette Bening and Naomi Watts, Oliver Parker’s Oscar Wilde adaptation “Dorian Gray,”  Jaco Van Dormael’s “Mr. Nobody,” Dagur Kári’s “The Good Heart,” featuring an “L.I.E.” reunion in Paul Dano and Brian Cox, Derrick Borte’s Demi Moore-David Duchovny pairing “The Jonses,” and buzzy docs “The Art of the Steal,” “How To Hold a Flag,” and “Hugh Hefner: Playboy, Activist and Rebel.”

In the days leading up to the fest, a few Toronto-related acquisitions already went down, with Zeitgeist picking up Stephane Aubier and Vincent Patar’s “A Town Called Panic,” IFC Films buying up Mia Hansen-Love’s French drama “Father of My Children” ahead of its North American premiere at the fest, and Sony Pictures Classics acquired domestic rights to Jean-Pierre Jeunet’s “Micmacs.”

indieWIRE has a full list of the films still up for grabs, including (when available) the title’s production company and sales agent. The lists includes world and international premieres, and films heading to Toronto after Venice for their North American premiere:

Re: Mother and Child

As per the officially announced cast listing for “Mother and Child”:

Rodrigo García’s “Mother and Child,” is starring Naomi Watts and Annette Bening

not starring Annette Bening and Naomi Watts
