Here's your daily dose of an indie film in progress; at the end of the week, you'll have the chance to vote for your favorite.

In the meantime: Is this a movie you’d want to see? Tell us in the comments.

"Who's Afraid of Vagina Wolf?"

Tweetable Logline:

In an all female parody of "Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf?," Anna will get the girl and make the film if it kills her!

Elevator Pitch:

Extremely personal, but equally universal, ‘Who’s Afraid of Vagina Wolf?’ explores a Cuban-American, lesbian's struggle to balance career, love, mother-daughter issues and her own internalized lesbophobia. In an indie film made by and about women of color, Anna Albelo unpacks what it means to be a lesbian Latina in the world fighting to make your story visible. The film enjoys a unique position in the marketplace of because it comes with a variety of built-in audiences: LGBT, Latina, and female moviegoers.

Production Team:

Director: Anna Margarita Albelo ("Hooters," "A Lez in Wonderland")
Writer: Michael Urban ("Saved!")
Producers: Steakhaus Productions ("Weather Girl," "6 Month Rule")
Director of Photography: Allison Kinney

About the Production:

"Ever since I heard the expression, 'Glass Ceiling' I've found it a paradox. It's not a concrete ceiling or a steel ceiling or a marble one even. It's just glass.

We hear this expression so often to describe the reasons women and girls don't advance in this world but I know things can be different if we each take action.

Action makes change. Action launches a scene. Action makes a film." -- Anna Margarita Albelo

Current Status:

The film is currently in pre-production and will begin shooting in the fall.
