INDUSTRY MOVES | Nishimura-Seese Named VP at Netflix; Copland in Top Spot at Red Envelope

Lisa Nishimura-Seese has been named VP of independent content acquisition at Netflix, the company announced on Monday. She will be responsible for, in the words of an announcement, broadening the selection of independent and small studio films offered to the service's seven million subscribers. Nishimura-Seese recently served as general manager at Palm Pictures and previously worked at Six Degrees Records. Last month, Netflix announced the promotion of Liesl Copland to head its Red Envelope Entertainment division, after the departure of Bahman Naraghi. Prior to joining Netflix last year, Copland worked at CInetic Media. [Eugene Hernandez]
