"Lost in Translation" director Sofia Coppola received accolades at MoMA's annual benefit honoring "a filmmaker whose body of work reveals a distinctive and original voice in cinema." The event, "A Work in Progress: An Evening with Sofia Coppola" took place at the MoMA Gramercy Theatre followed by a party at Metronome in Manhattan. After a short walk down the red carpet inside the theater, Ms. Coppola along with others including Bill Murray, Quentin Tarantino, Kirsten Dunst (who arrived with Jake Gyllenhaal, who decided to forgo the red carpet), Kevin Bacon along with Kyra Sedgwick and others made their way into the party. Mortals mixed with the stars inside, despite a tepid crush in the center of the main room to vie for a good view of Coppola chatting with friends. The VIP room upstairs remained fairly empty until later in the evening.

Oscar-nominated director Sofia Coppola received a tribute from the Museum of Modern Art in New York Tuesday night honoring her "original voice in cinema" at an annual benefit, which took place at the MoMA Gramercy Theatre. Coppola then attended the after party at Metronome, where she is arriving here clad in white.

The "Kill Bill"er himself Quentin Tarantino strolled his way in spreading around a little peace. Tarantino hung out by the bar most of the evening, chatting with admirers, and of course, friends.

The main bar at Metronome was the center of activity for most of the party, with most dressed up for the occasion and looking good despite the crappy weather outside. Coppola along with "Lost in Translation" star Bill Murray spent a good deal of time in the thick of it all.
