iPOP at the Toronto International Film Festival (Part 3)

iPOP at the Toronto International Film Festival (Part 3)

by Brian Brooks/indieWIRE

Chinese superstar Gong Li turned heads when she showed up fashionably late at the Sony Pictures Classics dinner held over the weekend at Bistro 990 in support of the film company's line-up at the Toronto International Film Festival. She was there for her film "Zhou Yu de Houche" by Sun Zhou. Also mixing with invited guests was acting legend Omar Sharif as well as Sony Classics co-presidents Michael Barker and Tom Bernard. In town from Brazil was director Hector Babenco who sipped champagne at the dinner along with actor Rodrigo Santoro from Babenco's latest film, "Carandiru." Bistro 990 was also the site of Monday night's SenArt Film party for Tom McCarthy's "The Station Agent," and Errol Morris' "Fog of War."
