iPOP at Various New York Holiday Parties

by Brian Brooks/indieWIRE

December is definitely party time in New York (as opposed to any other time of the year). Holiday parties provided tons of after-work debauchery, or at least a nice glass of wine. Also lumped in this end of year iPOP are some pics from the New York premiere of "The Woodsman," which was quite a bash indeed. Damon Dash was giving away special edition sneakers (iPOP got a pair), while others were given even more expensive goodies. Here are some outtakes from some of the parties...

"The Woodsman" producer Damon Dash entertained the audience at the New York premiere for the film held at trendy night spot N/A. Dash got down with Newmarket Films chief Bob Berney on stage, who clung to some Roca Wear sneakers that Dash was giving away to various folks. Not pictured off to the side in a booth was Mariah Carey, who came in for a bit, but no photos were allowed. She did provide a spectacle, however, when she exited, surrounded by about eight bodyguards.

"The Woodsman" stars Kevin Bacon and Kyra Sedgwick also took to the stage to show off their moves. It wasn't quite a 'Footloose' performance, but they sure looked like they were having a great time.

"The View" co-host Star Jones didn't seem to excited about having her pic either as she left the "Woodsman" bash, but she rose to the occasion when we asked if we could get one with her new husband, Al Reynolds. She showed off her night threads.

"Open My Heart" director/writer/star Giada Colagrande partied down with beau Willem Dafoe at NYC East Village nightspot Clubhouse at a party for the film, co-hosted by the Tribeca Film Festival, where the film screened in 2003.

New Line/Fine Line had their holiday bash, closing down a restaurant for the evening. Pictured here are Michael Lynne, Co-Chairman and Co-CEO, New Line Cinema and Clare Anne Conlon, Senior Vice President of National Publicity for New Line Cinema.

Newfest, the New York Lesbian and Gay Film Festival hosted a fundraising auction on a chilly Sunday night in Chelsea where the fest's director, Basil Tsiokos gave actor Alan Cumming an award. Basil really works his ass off producing the fest!

This lovely group of NYC film industry-ites, the so-called "Young Bookers Club -- East Coast Chapter" (Apparently it's for real) hung out at a downtown Manhattan nightspot for their holiday soiree. iPOP got the exclusive! Pictured are: Heath Shapiro (IDP), Michael Tuckman (ThinkFilm), Sarah Finklea (Criterion), Marisa Keselica (Wellspring), Emily Woodburne (Zeitgeist), Neal Block (Palm Pictures), Douglas Crapo (IDP), Ryan Werner (Wellspring) .
