This week saw the 40th edition of New Directors/New Films kickoff in grand style at the Museum of Modern Art with the New York premiere of "Margin Call." Director JC Chandor and "Gossip Girl" hunk Penn Badgley made the rounds at the after party, while the Film Society of the Lincoln Center's Rose Quo and MoMAs Film Department Head Rajendra Roy toasted 4 decades of the popular series.

Over in Hollywood, the team behind the subversive superhero film "Super" feted the film with a glamorous LA premiere. And in Austin, this year's South by Southwest Film Conference and Festival winded down with appearances from R.E.M.'s Michael Stipe and event honchos Louis Black and Janet Pierson.
