indieWIRE is pleased to announce it will be the official media sponsor of The American Pavilion at the 2009 Cannes Film Festival.

In conjunction with The American Pavilion, indieWIRE will present the American Directors in Cannes, a panel discussion during the festival that will feature U.S. filmmakers talking about their work. The conversation will be moderated by indieWIRE‘s Eugene Hernandez and will take place at The American Pavilion. Participants and the date will be announced soon.

The Pavilion will be an important hub for indieWIRE during the upcoming Festival de Cannes and will feature a daily roster of events and programming.

This year’s American Pavilion sessions are being set-up by Program Director Mike Jones, a former Variety and indieWIRE editor, whose blog is hosted by indieWIRE. The American Pavilion is lead by Director Julie Sisk; Lynne McCreary is The American Pavilion’s Managing Director.

ABOUT THE AMERICAN PAVILION

It serves as a communication and hospitality center for the thousands of Americans in Cannes during the festival and market and provides an impressive array of facilities and services to the international film community.
