iW NEWS | Arthouse and Sidetrack Team for "Beautiful Losers"

Indiewire By Indiewire | Indiewire September 25, 2008 at 12:47PM

Worldwide rights to Aaron Rose and Joshua Leonard's "Beautiful Losers" have been acquired by Arthouse Films, which will partner with Sidetrack Films on global distribution. The deal was negotiated by David Koh and Lilly Bright on behalf of Arthouse Films and Curiously Bright Entertainment, along with Jared Moshe and Richard Lim of Sidetrack Films on behalf of the directors and producers. The film has already been acquired and recently released in Japan through Phantom Films and opened in the U.S. this summer. Focusing on a loose-knit group of American artists, the doc is the the story of how a group of outsiders with little or no formal training, and almost no conception or interest of the inner workings of the art world, ended up having an incredible impact on the worlds of art, fashion, music, film and pop culture. indieWRE profiled the film's release plan with Nike last month and published an interview with the filmmaker when the doc was released in August.
