Agnes Varda's doc "The Beaches of Agnes" has been acquired by The Cinema Guild.
The Guild took all U.S. distribution rights to the film, an whimsical voyage through Varda's life, incorporating photographs, film clips, vintage footage and contemporary sequences. The film premiered at the 2008 Venice Film Festival and was an official selection of the 2008 Toronto International Film Festival. "'The Beaches of Agnes' is a gem, an absolute delight for anyone who loves the movies," commented The Cinema Guild's Ryan Krivoshey in a statement. "We are very excited to be working with Ms. Varda on the US release of her film."
