The 19th Annual Palm Springs International Film Festival will honor Daniel Day-Lewis with its Desert Palm Achievement Award for his latest film, Paul Thomas Anderson's "There Will Be Blood." Day-Lewis will receive the award at the festival's Awards Gala on January 5, 2008. Past recipients include Nicolas Cage, Liam Neeson and Jake Gyllenhaal. The festival previously announced awards going to the film "Juno," director Sean Penn, and actress Marion Cotillard. [Peter Knegt]
