Experimental filmmaker Phil Solomon will receive the 2007 Stan Brakhage Vision Award at the upcoming Starz Denver Film Festival on November 11. The nod "recognizes the achievement of a film industry professional who embodies the creative and artistic essence that made Brakhage known." The program will include a presentation of a series of short films directed by Solomon and a Q&A session with the filmmaker. Known as Colorado's adopted cinematic poet, Brakhage was the undisputed titan of the experimental film movement. The 30th edition of the Denver fest takes place November 8 - 18. [Brian Brooks]
