It was announced Tuesday that GreeneStreet Films International has acquired Craig Lucas' "Laws of Motion." Lucas ("The Dying Gaul") will direct Matthew Perry, Ben Foster and Hilary Swank in this comedy about three adult siblings reconnecting. The film begins shooting In June in southern Connecticut and will be released in late 2008.
Producing the film are Daniela Taplin Lundeberg, Celine Rattray, Galt Niederhoffer of Plum Pictures, Ideal Partners Film Fund's Jana Edelbaum, and Hilary Swank. Plum's Pamela Hirsch, Hart-Lunsford's Ed Hart and Bruce Lunsford, Eric Waren Goldman, Scott Hanson, and John Allen will all executive produce.
The acquisition was negotiated by GreeneStreet's Ariel Veneziano and Jana Edelbaum of ideal Partners Film Fund. GreeneStreet will introduce buyers to "Laws" at the Cannes Market, in addition to Ryan Reynolds-Hope Davis starrer "The Nines," "Tenderness," starring Russell Crowe, and "Bill," featuring Aaron Eckhart and Jessica Alba.
